How to Improve power for normal aspirated Diesels ...?Pre 1996

1. Change the Engine oil to a 5/40 or 0/40 fully synthetic oil.

2.  This will greatly improve Engine power.

3.  Can also reduce Engine noise up to 50% or more.

4. Also make sure you are getting full throttle on the injector pump arm when accelerator is fully pressed. (common problem) 

5. If you've had a Cambelt changed there is good chance that the dynamic timing can be out by several degrees.

6. If this doesn't work let me know (Let me know anyway).

2.  This will greatly improve Engine power.

     Viscous fans how do I know if it is faulty ...?

1. Road test the vehicle to normal temp and then switch of engine.
2. Then carefully try to spin the fan, it should be nice and free.  
3. Leave vehicle to stand without engine running at normal temp for 5mins. 
4. Start engine for 30 seconds then switch of engine.
5. Then carefully try to spin the fan, it should have far more of resistance.
6. If not try from step one again just to be sure.
7. It is easier to carry out the test on a warm day.
8. If the fan still spins freely by hand then the viscous unit is faulty.
9. You may also feel a roughness to the fan in which case the unit is faulty.
